Usually we consider excessive speed 40km/ph over the speed limit. So on a 100km/h highway anything over 140km/h would be considered excessive speed. An Audi R8 was clocked at 176km/h on a stretch of the Trans Canada Highway passing through Chilliwack. Think that is excessive? How about their friend who reached speeds of 265km/h. 265km/h? Really? Yes, really.

Once again we question what goes through the minds of these drivers who risk so much to themselves and others around them, including the occupants of the seven cars they passed. Reports also stated that it had rained that morning and that the roads were slippery, added to that danger.

Thankfully the RCMP was able to apprehend these drivers, fine them and impound their vehicles. Here is to hoping these drivers lose their licence and their cars.
